Tealia Torres is a career cosmetologist and owner of Modern Hair Designs Inc. since 1996. As a licensed cosmetology teacher and barber manager, she offers apprenticeship programs for youth interested in becoming stylists, barbers, estheticians, etc.

offering many transferable skills, mentoring to create well rounded entrepreneurs in the field.

Yearly, Tealia works with the Urban Affairs Coalition Summer Work Ready Program, securing summer employment and mentoring the youth of Philadelphia.

Supporting the youth is one of Tealia’s greatest passions.

Her accomplishments and experience include: Licensed Cosmetology Teacher and Barber Manager over 25 years. Salon owner since 1996.

Treasurer of the PA Professional Image Alliance (PPIA), Board Member of the PA Women’s Empowerment Initiative, and the Chairperson of the Occupational Advisory Committee of the barber program at Murrell Dobbins High School.
